Our project, which serves both security of supply and environmental goals and is of particular importance to the national economy, has reached another major milestone. We approached one of the most visible parts of the development, and one demanding the greatest technical expertise, as a major challenge, so we are pleased to report the erection of the chimney that will discharge the flue gases from the 5 MW + (2×)20 MW biomass-fired heating plant.
The structure is the result of joint, coordinated work with Fuligo Kft., which manufactured and installed it. Kraftszer Kft. delivered the chimney as part of the complete mechanical, electrical and control system design and construction of the heating plant. In line with ICAO Annex 14, the striking structure is fitted with 4 obstruction lights with uninterruptible power supply. Silencers will be connected to the chimney to keep noise emissions low, so that the noise at the chimney top remains below the permitted 75 dB.
Our specialists on this large-scale project still have to place and fix a KAL 1000 and a type 1660 flue gas fan on their foundations, manufacture and install 2 silencers on site, and manufacture and install 4 connecting pieces; before the project closes, the complete documentation, the chimney sweep inspection and the permitting also remain. The complete system is expected to be finished at the end of July.
