Construction of a new water treatment plant producing demineralised and polished demineralised water using UP-CORE technology.

Construction of a new water treatment plant producing demineralised and polished demineralised water using UP-CORE technology.

As general EPC contractor, our tasks included the complete design, permitting, construction, installation and commissioning of the new water treatment plant, covering:

  • Process design (P&ID)
  • Permitting by the authorities (building authority, MKEH)
  • Mechanical, control and power design
  • Fabrication, equipment supply and installation
  • Trial operation and commissioning
  • Training and as-built documentation

Client: Budapesti Erőmű

About the facility:

The new water treatment plant produces demineralised water from raw Danube water by lime pre-softening followed by cation-anion ion exchangers with a capacity of 3 × 70 t/h. Mixed-bed ion exchangers with a capacity of 2 × 70 t/h then deliver polished demineralised water (the demineralisation uses UPCORE technology).
