Csepel II power plant — fuel supply system

Complete design, permitting, installation and commissioning of the natural gas and fuel oil supply system of the 396 MWe Csepel II power plant.

Complete design, permitting, installation and commissioning of the natural gas and fuel oil supply system of the 396 MWe Csepel II power plant.

Fabrication of the flue gas cleaning process equipment, its piping and ductwork installation, energy supply, electrical and control installation, permitting of the systems, verification measurements and commissioning. The flue gas cleaner uses natural gas to incinerate the exhaust gas; to bring the gas to site, a gas pressure reducing station and gas burners had to be installed, together with the associated gas and piping system.

Client: ELIN GmbH

About the facility:

The combined-cycle gas turbines of the 396 MWe Csepel II power plant run primarily on natural gas but can also operate on fuel oil for extended periods when needed. The natural gas system comprises the receiving station for the high pressure transmission pipeline from the gas supplier, the pressure reducing valve assemblies, and the supply piping up to the gas turbine filters. The fuel oil system comprises the transmission pipeline from the fuel oil supplier, two above-ground vertical cylindrical fuel oil tanks of 8,000 m3 each, the barge loading and unloading station, the oil conditioning station, and the supply piping up to the gas turbine, with all the valves and fittings required for operation.
